Simon of Cyrene, his father, mother and brother, Zack wrestle with God and what he is doing in their lives and the lives of their people. Theirs is the story of a people living under Roman rule. Where is God at in their lives? What about the promises He has made in the past of sending a deliverer to free them? Will He be faithful to His promises?
A baby is born and their smoldering hope is fanned into flames as they contemplate that this could be their long awaited deliverer. Suddenly soldiers appear taking the lives of children two years and under and the one they thought would deliver them is nowhere to be found. Reality defies the promises God has given them of a Deliverer. Their hopes and dreams seem to have been thwarted and they are left clinging to avery thin strand of hope that someday their dreams of deliverance will be fulfilled. Simon of Cyrene and his brother Zack, now grown with families of their own, are still looking for the fulfillment of deliverance from the oppressive Romans. The promises of God seem distant & Simon has grown disillusioned and indifferent. As tragedy strikes will hope prevail giving the brothers and their families the courage they need to not give up but to persevere until their dreams for deliverance are fulfilled?
